JUICE

(Data will be available later)

JUICE or (JUpiter ICy moons Explorer), is a European mission launched in April 2023 to Jupiter.
What are the conditions governing the formation of planets and the emergence of life? How was the solar system born? These are all fundamental questions that the JUICE mission will try to answer from 2030, thanks to the exploration of Jupiter and three of its moons.
During this phase of exploration, which will last 3.5 years, JUICE will pay particular attention to Ganymede, a moon of Jupiter suspected of harboring a liquid ocean under its icy surface. By analyzing this liquid ocean, JUICE will collect valuable information on the conditions necessary for the appearance of life in this type of environment. The study of Europa and Callisto, two other moons of Jupiter, will also be part of the program.
Finally, JUICE will analyze Jupiter's atmosphere and magnetosphere and the interactions with its moons.

The JUICE mission is part of ESA's Cosmic Vision 2015-2025 program. France contributes to the mission with several French laboratories (IAS, IRAP, LATMOS, LERMA, LESIA, LPC2E, LPP, LAB, IPAG), which participated in the development of onboard instruments.
