Sentinel-3 mission is an European Earth Observation satellite series developed by the European Spatial Agency (ESA) and operated by the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) to support ocean, land, atmospheric, emergency, security and cryospheric applications as part of the Copernicus programme.
The main objective of the Sentinel-3 mission is to measure sea surface topography, sea and land surface temperature, and ocean and land surface color with high accuracy and reliability to support ocean forecasting systems, environmental monitoring and climate monitoring.
Sentinel-3A was launched on February 16, 2016 and Sentinel-3B was launched on April 25, 2018.
